Tonight Firefighter Dane Winkelmann graduated from the Washington County Firefighters Association‘s Recruit Academy. Dane and the other recruits went through an over 400 hour training course on FFI, FFII, and Hazmat A&O. The recruits completed classroom and hands-on skills over 22 weeks, this is a hybrid course with class work done online. Testing, hands-on skills, and exercise are completed on saturdays. Dane has completed a major step in the fire service and can now be a certified firefighter in Texas. Dane follows in the foot steps of his father and late uncle, Dane’s father Alan Winkelmann is a member of Meyersville FD and the former Fire Chief. Meyersville would like to thank you and your family for the sacrifices you all have made to make this happen. Meyersville FD is proud of this young man and can’t wait to see what the future holds congratulations Dane on your achievement!
